BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.

What you'll be doing?

BGEN are looking for an enthusiastic Project Manager with a can-do attitude to support their project in Cambridge. The project is a multidisciplinary contract E& I & Mechanical scopes.

The Project Manager reporting directly to the Project Director provides leadership to the site teams and is responsible for, scheduling, workface planning, coordinating, supervising, assisting in cost control and ensuring the safety, productivity of the teams at the workface including site installations and associated cabling installs. As a key participant in the relationships with other contractors, company and client.

The Project Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of project work. This includes ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and site procedures, while promoting a strong safety culture through training, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations. They provide leadership and supervision by organising resources, assigning work, assessing team capability, mentoring employees and apprentices, resolving workplace issues, and supporting disciplinary processes when required.

The role also involves planning and scheduling work activities to achieve project objectives, ensuring labour, materials, tools, and work packages are available and coordinated. The Project Manager works closely with other trades and stakeholders to avoid conflicts and maintain productivity. Quality control is achieved by ensuring work complies with specifications, drawings, and inspection requirements. Additionally, the Project Manager oversees project administration, including reporting progress, maintaining records, approving material requisitions, and recommending personnel actions to support successful project outcomes.

You will bring:

- Mechanical / Electrical Degree / HND / HNC or relevant experience

- Professional Registration desirable (Chartered or Member)

- Has completed CILM Training

- CSCS Managers & Professionals

- Has 5 or more years’ experience in a similar field, and who is familiar with all construction trades

- IOSH / NEBOSH Desirable
