Administration Assistant
Join our Office Team
We are seeking an experienced school administrator to join our friendly and efficient office team. The role will include all the administration duties of a school office with key ownership of the attendance process for pupils.
This is a busy and varied role at the heart of our school, working with parents, children and school colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Monitor and manage pupil attendance on a daily basis, ensuring accurate and effective use of Arbor.
- Communicate professionally and sensitively with parents and carers to support good attendance and minimise pupil absence.
- Administer procedures relating to requests for leave during term time in line with statutory guidance and school policy.
- Maintain accurate records and complete documentation relating to Children Missing Education (CME).
- Collate, monitor and analyse attendance information, working closely with the Children’s Welfare Officer and school leaders to identify trends and implement appropriate actions.
- Prepare and issue documentation relating to fixed penalty notices and liaise effectively with the Local Authority and other agencies where required.
- Contribute to the school's safeguarding culture by recognising and responding appropriately to attendance concerns.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
- Has experience of working in an educational setting, ideally within a primary school.
- Has a good understanding of attendance procedures and their crucial link to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
- Is highly organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families and external agencies.
- Is resilient, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrates a commitment to inclusion and ensuring the best outcomes for all children.
