You'll play an important role in helping to ensure our school remains safe, secure, clean and well-presented, providing an environment where pupils, staff and visitors feel welcome and supported.This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. From carrying out routine maintenance and site inspections to supporting health and safety and responding to the day-to-day needs of the school, you'll be a valued member of the team whose work has a direct impact on the experience of everyone who uses the site.What you'll be doingHelping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming school environment for pupils, staff and visitors.Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs and site improvements.Undertaking regular health and safety checks and reporting or addressing issues as appropriate.Opening and securing the site, buildings and facilities in line with operational requirements.Supporting contractors and monitoring works carried out on site.Assisting with site security, emergency procedures and compliance requirements.Maintaining external areas, grounds and outdoor spaces to a high standard.Supporting the preparation of rooms and facilities for school activities and events.Taking pride in the appearance, cleanliness and overall presentation of the site.Who we're looking forPractical and hands-on, with experience in maintenance, caretaking, facilities or a similar role.Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.Committed to maintaining high standards and taking pride in a job well done.Able to identify problems, find solutions and respond positively to unexpected situations.Organised and safety-conscious, with a good understanding of health and safety responsibilities.Friendly and approachable, with excellent customer service and communication skills.Flexible and willing to support the wider needs of the school community.Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.About us:Our mission is “working together passionately to achieve the best outcomes in our specialised SEND and Alternative Provision settings”.
