Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic registered nurse to work in Pre Operative Assessment clinic. This is a Fixed Term 9 month (Maternity Cover) contract. 37.5 hours a week and an ideal opportunity for those with existing pre-assessment skills.

The post holder will act as a junior team member, supported by senior colleagues whilst developing skills specific to the preoperative care environment.

The post holder will be:

•  Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation and delivery of care packages for patients undergoing POA for elective surgery.

• Responsible for a defined caseload of patients.

Thepost holder will work closelyand collaboratively aspartof the PreoperativeAssessment Team (POA)andwithallhealthcareprofessionalsinvolvedinthecarepathwayof theelectiveandurgent surgical patient, including:

 

•  Preoperativeassessmentteamonaday-to-daybasis

•  AllClinicalandadministrativestaffthatsupportthesurgicalpatientjourney.

•  Admissionsandschedulingstaffacrossallsurgicaldirectorates
