Summary

Senior Clinical Fellowship in Electrophysiology and Cardiac Rhythm Management

 

The post would suit cardiology trainees with at least three years experience of general cardiology and competency in pacing procedures who wished to gain further experience in invasive electrophysiology and ablation and complex device implantation. Experience and training would be offered to the candidate in procedures according to their level of experience. Prior clinical experience in Electrophysiology would be desirable. Opportunities also exist for clinically based research.

The Cardiac Rhythm Management service based at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital serves and receives referrals for EP ablation from Dorset County Hospital (Dorchester), Poole Hospital (part of UHD), Salisbury District Hospital as well as the local population of Bournemouth and West Hampshire, a total population of over 1 million.

Complex devices are provided at RBH for Bournemouth, Poole and West Hampshire populations (approximately 650,000). Complex devices are also implanted at Dorset County Hospital (approximately 250,000) and Salisbury District Hospital (approximately 350,000). These external training sessions will also available to a suitable candidate.
