Summary
Morson Edge are working with a leading provider of metering services to recruit a Meter Reader to cover the Oxfordshire (OX18, SN7, OX28 & OX29) area.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is self-motivated and thrives in an independent role. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate meter readings for residential and commercial properties while delivering excellent customer service on behalf of some of the UKs leading energy suppliers.
Full training is provided before you begin working independently in the field.
The Opportunity
As a Meter Reader, youll be responsible for visiting residential and commercial properties to collect gas, electricity and water meter readings using a handheld device. Youll plan your own daily route, work independently throughout the day and represent the business professionally while providing excellent customer service.
This is an active outdoor role that involves significant walking and driving, working in all weather conditions, and occasionally gaining access to meters located inside customers properties.
The role offers 40, 42 or 45-hour working weeks, with shifts available between 8:00am and 8:00pm, Monday to Sunday, so flexibility to work weekends is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Visit residential and commercial properties to obtain accurate gas, electricity and water meter readings.
Record meter readings using a handheld data collection device.
Plan and manage your daily route efficiently to maximise productivity.
Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with customers.
Gain access to internal and external meters safely and professionally.
Work independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity.
Follow all health and safety procedures while working in the field.
Represent the company professionally when visiting customer properties.
Ensure all meter readings and customer information are recorded accurately.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Essential Skills & Experience
Full UK driving licence.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to walk several miles each day.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
