Summary
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Plumber to come and join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMP Berwyn, 139 Bridge Rd, Wrexham LL13 9QE.
At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons.
By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
Plumbers plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. (Monday to Friday 7:30am-16:30pm - 15 %shift allowance - 1 in 5 weekends.
What you will do:
• Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
• Performing statutory works on time, ensuring compliance.
• Conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
• Inspecting, sampling water, and assessing risks to maintain system integrity.
• Repairing mains water supply and address life-expired equipment.
• Monitoring the BMS System to ensure optimal performance.
• Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals.
• Handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
What makes this role unique is you will ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety standards and to the agreed method statements. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
