In Early Years, the moments that look small can be enormously important.

A nursery setting in Ilford is looking for an experienced Level 6 Early Years Practitioner who understands how to recognise those moments and turn them into opportunities for children to learn and develop.

This is not a standard Nursery Assistant position.

You'll take greater responsibility for children's learning and development, using your knowledge of the EYFS to plan purposeful experiences, assess progress and help create an environment where children aged 0-5 can thrive.

Bring Your Early Years Expertise into the Room

You'll be trusted to use your professional judgement rather than simply follow a timetable.

You'll observe how children play, communicate and interact, identify where they are developmentally and use that understanding to decide what could help them progress next.

Your role will include:

- Planning engaging, age-appropriate learning through the EYFS.

- Creating opportunities for learning through play, exploration and everyday routines.

- Observing, assessing and recording children's development.

- Taking responsibility for key children and contributing to individual learning plans.

- Supporting communication, language and early literacy development.

- Encouraging children's social, emotional and physical development.

- Helping children build confidence, curiosity and independence.

- Recognising where a child may need additional support and working alongside the SENCO.

- Building positive relationships with parents and carers.

- Supporting and guiding less experienced Early Years colleagues where appropriate.

- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, welfare, health and safety.

The Qualification Matters - But So Does What You Do With It

The nursery is specifically looking for somebody with a relevant higher-level Early Years qualification appropriate for working within an EYFS setting.

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with qualifications or professional status such as:

Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) • Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) • QTS • Relevant Level 6 Early Years/Childcare Qualification

You'll also need:

- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the EYFS.

- Previous experience within a nursery or Early Years environment.

- Confidence planning learning experiences for young children.

- Experience observing and assessing children's development.

- A strong understanding of Early Years safeguarding.

- The confidence to take greater responsibility within a nursery team.
