Summary

Riverside Leisure Centre is Chelmsford City Council’s flagship leisure facility, offering a variety of sporting activities where there is something for everyone. Every member of staff plays their role, working within a team in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a friendly, caring and approachable Creche Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of our creche facility, which provides care for children from infancy up to five years of age.

The successful applicant will have experience of working with children within an Ofsted-registered setting and will be committed to creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and develop with confidence. The applicant must provide high-quality care and support for children aged 0 to 5 years creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all children and families. The Creche Assistant will support children's learning and development through play-based activities, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the creche.

Candidates must be qualified to a minimum CACHE, BTEC or NVQ level 2 in Childcare and have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding in a childcare setting, ensuring compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, child protection and welfare policies and procedures.

This position is offered on a casual basis, to cover sickness and annual leave, during the opening hours of the Creche which are Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 2.30pm, including school holidays.
