An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly Renal Outpatients team. You will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their outpatient journey, assisting with clinical procedures, carrying out observations, and providing high-quality care in a busy and rewarding environment.

Working alongside nurses, doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure patients receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care. Excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient experience are essential.

Previous healthcare experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

• Will work closely with the trained staff to provide optimum patient care for post renal transplant patients.

• Monitor and organise routine bloods and urine samples.

• Simple wound dressing.

• Adherence to Infection control measures.

• Accurate and timely observations.

• Phlebotomy

• Organisation of the clinics

• Ordering stock and replenishing stock

• The role will include welcoming and preparing patients for clinic, undertaking delegated clinical observations, supporting phlebotomy and other clinical procedures within own competence, recording accurate patient

• Assisting nursing and medical staff.

• Recognise and promptly escalate any changes in patient condition, concerns or abnormal observation to a registered nurse.

• Support effective patient flow through clinic to minimise unnecessary delays and improve the patient experience.

• Check, maintain and replenish clinical stock and report shortages or equipment faults promptly.

• Maintain competence through training, supervision and ongoing development relevant to role.

• Adhere to Trust policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, health and safety standards and the limits of the Band 3 scope of practice.

• Contribute to qualify improvement initiatives aimed at improving patient safety, clinic efficiency, patient flow and patient experience.

• Work collaboratively with registered nurses, doctors, administrative staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team, responding appropriately to queries and concerns.

• Support infection prevention and control measures, including appropriate cleaning and preparation of clinical areas and equipment.
