Salary: £47,639 - £56,392
Hours: 36 per week
In November 2023, the Council declared a housing emergency. Every night over 6,000 households are in temporary accommodation in the city, with over 9, 000 homeless households in the city in total. There are over 32, 000 applicants registered on EdIndex, seeking social housing in the city. In 2026 the Council agreed significant budget investment over the next five years to provide c.2,500 additional temporary accommodation units, as well as 3,400 additional settled affordable homes delivered by the Council and partners.
We are looking for two experienced and highly motivated, innovative individuals to support the strategic delivery of this investment.
Post one will focus on supporting the delivery of the Housing Emergency Action Plan providing strategic support for homelessness including temporary accommodation and homelessness prevention, including the development of an asset management strategy.
Post two will focus on strategic and project management support for the delivery of the Council grant for Registered Social Landlords and partners supporting the delivery of affordable housing in the city.
The successful candidates should have experience within a housing and homelessness or other similar service environment and have extensive knowledge of the housing and homelessness legislative, regulatory and policy environment.
