Summary

Band 6 cardiac rehabilitation enhanced practitioners are expert clinicians, having completed a minimum of 2 years working in cardiac rehabilitation at band 5 or higher; or 4 years of post registration experience and 2 years of cardiac care; and possessing at least one relevant postgraduate/post-registration qualification. The post holder will act as an autonomous practitioner performing detailed clinical assessment and leading in the care of all patients in their caseload in collaboration with secondary care clinicians, community providers and the wider MDT. They will supervise and train band 3 and band 4 colleagues as well as students and will provide specialist advice to the rest of the MDT. The post-holder will work across hospital sites and community leisure centres around the area of Bristol and Weston. The post holder will be responsible for implementing and delivering a safe and comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program along with other members of the MDT. They will manage and participate in group exercise programmes for cardiac patients. They will provide advice on managing recovery from a cardiac diagnosis and managing cardiac risk factors.
