Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced
Vehicle Maintenance Fitter, HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Mechanic or Plant Fitter to join a busy
heavy industrial recycling and manufacturing business in Darley Dale.
This is a
permanent days-based role maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of
commercial vehicles, trailers, mobile plant and associated equipment.
Duties include:
- Routine servicing,
- Diagnosing and repairing
- Repairs and component replacement across
- Preparing vehicles and plant for
- Investigating and rectifying
- Attending
- Fabrication, welding, cutting, grinding and minor repairs where competent
- Accurate completion of
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
- Experience maintaining
- Strong fault-finding and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Good knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and braking systems
- Recognised
- Full UK Driving Licence desirable

preventative maintenance and safety inspections
mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and braking faults
engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking systems and hydraulics
MOT, plating and statutory inspections
driver-reported defects and breakdowns
on-site and off-site breakdowns where required
maintenance records and job cards
You'll need:
commercial vehicles, HGVs, trailers, mobile plant or industrial vehicles
Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle, Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or similar is desirable
