About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Pipe Welder / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team in Dudley.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication and MIG welding of 6?12 inch carbon steel pipework, working from drawings and specifications to produce high-quality fabricated components.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in pipe fabrication who is confident with tacking, fitting and MIG welding.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricating and assembling 6?12 inch carbon steel pipework
MIG welding carbon steel components to a high standard
Accurate tacking and fitting of pipe sections and components
Working from engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
Setting up and preparing welding equipment
Using pipe preparation and cutting machinery
Checking dimensions, alignment and quality throughout the fabrication process
Ensuring finished work meets required quality standards
Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised working area
Working as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in pipe welding and fabrication
Good MIG welding skills
Experience working with carbon steel pipe
The ability to accurately tack and fit pipework prior to welding
The ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings
Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
Experience using fabrication machinery and preparation equipment
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
The Role
The role involves the fabrication of 6?12 inch carbon pipe, with the majority of cutting and preparation carried out using dedicated machinery. Therefore, there is limited requirement for extensive hand cutting or manual preparation.
The successful candidate will primarily focus on fitting, tacking, fabrication and MIG welding, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced pipe fabricator looking for a stable, hands-on position.
What We Offer
