Summary

Are you excited by improving services, supporting change, and helping teams work more effectively?

We're recruiting for

two Project Officers, each working within a different directorate and offering the chance to support meaningful change and improvement work across the organisation.

About the General Medical Council

We work with doctors, physician associates (PAs), anaesthesia associates (AAs), those they care for and other stakeholders to support good, safe patient care across the UK. We set the standards doctors, PAs, AAs and their educators need to meet, and help them achieve them. If there are concerns these standards may not be met or that public confidence in doctors, PAs, or AAs may be at risk, we can investigate and take action if needed.

Project Officer, Fitness to Practise

Directorate

We're looking for a Project Officer to join our Business Transformation team within the Fitness to Practise directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of strategic change initiatives that will help shape how we work in the future. The team is currently focused on delivering key priorities within the Regulatory Reform programme, helping to improve our processes, systems and ways of working.

As a Project Officer, you'll play a key role in coordinating projects and business improvement activities, working with colleagues across the GMC to turn ideas into practical solutions. You'll support the planning and delivery of change initiatives, engage with stakeholders, maintain project documentation, track progress, and help ensure that new ways of working are successfully embedded.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, organising complex pieces of work, and supporting teams to deliver positive change.

This is a hybrid role, with at least one day in the office a week, dependent on business needs. We support a range of flexible working options.

Project Officer, Education & Standards Directorate

This is a great opportunity to be part of our work to eliminate inequality in medical education and training. You'll work closely with project managers, a GMC Clinical Fellow as well as with a range of operational and policy teams within the directorate to develop standards, policies and operational systems to drive improvement. There will also be opportunities to work with colleagues across the GMC and with educational institutions.

You'll join a team that values collaboration and creative ways of working, and who understands how important it is to feel included and supported at work.
