You do not need previous bus-driving experience to apply. Through our in-house training school, we will provide the training, support and funding you need to gain your PCV licence and begin a rewarding career as a professional Bus Driver. We will cover training costs up to the value of

£2,500, including theory and practical tests, travelling expenses and accommodation, subject to terms and conditions

Working in Ardrishaig

Based at our Ardrishaig depot, you will help connect communities across Mid Argyll and beyond.

Once qualified, you will play an important role in helping local residents travel safely and reliably to work, school, appointments, the shops and other destinations. You will be part of a supportive local team in a varied role where no two days are the same.

What you’ll be doing

Once you have successfully completed your training and gained your PCV licence, you will:

  • Safely and professionally operate buses on local service routes
  • Provide excellent customer service and a safe, comfortable journey for every passenger
  • Help customers reach their destinations safely and on time
  • Handle cash and card payments accurately and responsibly, where required
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures
  • Work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and professionalism
  • Represent West Coast Motors positively through your driving, appearance and customer care

What we’re looking for:

  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • At least one year’s driving experience
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • A professional, dependable and safety-focused approach
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • The confidence to work independently
  • To live within a reasonable travelling distance of Ardrishaig

What you'll enjoy

  • A permanent and secure job once you successfully qualify
  • Full training and support to gain your PCV licence
  • Training costs covered up to the value of £2,500, subject to terms and conditions
  • Overtime opportunities, with sixth-day working paid at time and a half
  • 30 days’ holiday
  • Shifts paid straight through, except for an unpaid lunch break
  • Paid Driver CPC training
  • Free travel for you and your partner on West Coast Motors services
  • Career development opportunities across the wider business
