The service comprises an experienced team of Consultant Clinical Geneticists, Genetic Counsellors and Genetic Research Nurses/Practitioners, as well as resident doctors and trainee Genetic Counsellors, supported by a large clinical administrative team. There is wide scope for personal and professional development and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is committed to CPD for all staff. The post-holder will also help to promote and prioritise Genetic Counsellor continuing professional development. The ethos of the department is innovative and forward-thinking and there will be many opportunities for the post holder to support service development and transformation projects locally and regionally. What you will bring to the role As an experienced Registered Genetic Counsellor, you will have specialist expertise in one or more clinical areas, allowing you to take a lead in this speciality, including identifying and facilitating service development strategies to enhance patient care. As the role includes line management, you will have prior experience of mentoring and coaching in a previous line management role and/or through the supervision of trainee/student Genetic Counsellors Please see the attached job description for further information about this vacancy.
