Are you an experienced and compassionate doctor looking to further develop your career in inpatient mental health care? Rotherham Care Group is seeking a motivated SAS Doctor to join our dedicated inpatient psychiatry services, supporting high-quality, patient-centred care for adults with complex mental health needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team within Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. You will contribute to safe, effective clinical care, undertake patient reviews, support treatment planning, and work closely with consultants, nursing colleagues, allied health professionals and wider community services to promote recovery and positive outcomes.

We are looking for a doctor with strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a genuine commitment to collaborative working. Clinical Duties:

 

·      Conduct initial psychiatric assessments, mental state examinations, and risk assessments for newly admitted patients.

·      Formulate treatment plans in collaboration with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.

·      Participate in board rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and case discussions.

·      Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring adherence to NICE guidelines.

·      Manage medical emergencies and liaise with general medical teams as required.

 

Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

 

·      Work closely with consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers to ensure holistic patient care.

·      Communicate effectively with families, carers, and external agencies involved in patient care.

·      Participate in discharge planning and liaise with community mental health teams to ensure continuity of care.
