Summary

Luma Education Recruitment are working with an excellent and highly regarded secondary school in LU3, Luton, to recruit a confident and committed Cover Supervisor to work within its SEND provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an impressive school with a strong reputation and a passionate staff team. The successful candidate will supervise lessons, support pupils with additional needs and help maintain a calm, focused and positive learning environment.

The role would suit candidates with experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Pastoral Support Worker, Behaviour Mentor or within SEND/SEMH settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise classes across the secondary age range, including within the SEND provision

Deliver pre-prepared lesson work and ensure pupils remain engaged

Support students with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs

Maintain clear boundaries and promote positive behaviour

Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils

Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to support student progress

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people in an education or support setting

Confident managing a classroom and maintaining positive behaviour

Calm, patient and consistent approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

SEND, SEMH, behaviour or pastoral experience is highly desirable
