Your new role

The Procurement Manager will deliver optimal value for money and efficiencies through effective procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with Procurement Act 2023 (PA23). Working closely with the Head of Procurement, you will support with category strategies and managing high-value contracts and initiatives. The Procurement Manager will proactively build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to establish business needs and specifications, and will manage the end-to-end procurement and tendering process to deliver on these requirements, as well as managing mini competitions and direct awards via frameworks. You will strive to deliver cost savings in line with business targets, whilst mitigating risks across the supply chain. Post-award, you will manage contract performance with suppliers and ensure that they are adhering to SLAs and agreed KPIs.

This role is offered on a remote basis with an occasional requirement to travel to the Manchester office or supplier sites for important meetings.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven background in UK procurement and delivering cost savings within the public or not-for-profit sector
  • Experience of independently running tender processes end-to-end
  • Detailed knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 (PA23)
  • Ability to negotiate and influence decisions with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to build rapport with stakeholders
  • You must be qualified to CIPS Level 4 or above
