Pure Staff's Driving Team are recruiting

HGV Class 1 Drivers in Avonmouth, Bristol for consistent ongoing work with one of the UK's largest and longest-established logistics businesses, completing trunking and retail store deliveries for a major national retail customer. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced

Class 1 Drivers looking for a strong weekday rate, afternoon starts and consistent work without the need for handball.

The operation offers

plenty of different start times each day between 12:00 noon and 16:00, making this particularly suitable for drivers who prefer afternoon work rather than early-morning starts. The regular working pattern is

Monday to Friday, with occasional

Saturday shifts available on an optional basis for drivers who want additional work.

Pay & Hours

Monday to Friday:

£21.57 per hour (with holiday pay rolled up) or £19.25 per hour (if you opt for holiday accrual which is paid when you book time off)

If you opt for holiday pay accrued separately it's worth an additional

£2.32 per hour

Optional Saturdays:

£23.53 per hour (with holiday pay rolled up) or £21.00 per hour (if you opt for holiday accrual which is paid when you book time off)

If you opt for holiday pay accrued separately it's worth an additional

£2.53 per hour

Your Typical Working Day

You'll be completing a mixture of

HGV Class 1 trunking and retail store deliveries from the customer's Avonmouth operation. Typical duties include:

Afternoon starts between

12:00 and 16:00

Shifts averaging approximately

10 hours

HGV Class 1 trunking

Retail store deliveries

No handball

Strapping and securing loads

Completing thorough vehicle and load checks

Ensuring trailers and loads are correctly contained before leaving site

Completing delivery paperwork accurately

Following Drivers' Hours, Working Time and site procedures

Important - Load Security. Load security is a critical requirement of this assignment. Drivers must correctly strap and contain their loads and complete all necessary checks

before moving away from the loading bay or taking a trailer. The customer takes load security extremely seriously. Failure to follow the site's required load-security procedures could result in immediate removal from the assignment.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this

HGV Class 1 Driver position you'll need:

A valid UK

Category C+E / Class 1 Licence

A valid

Driver CPC / DQC

A valid

Digital Tachograph Card

Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience

No more than

6 penalty points on your licence

Confidence with

strapping and securing loads

Good understanding of load security

Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations

A professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude

retail store delivery, trunking or general distribution experience would be advantageous.
