Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

to join its team. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your subject knowledge to support students across Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths while gaining practical experience in education.

What will you be doing?

You'll work alongside experienced teachers to provide additional support to students across a range of STEM subjects. You'll help pupils tackle challenging concepts, develop their problem-solving abilities and build confidence in their learning.

You may work with students

1:1, in small groups and within the wider classroom, giving you valuable experience supporting learners with different abilities and needs.

Key responsibilities

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide

    1:1 and small-group support

    across STEM subjects

  • Help students develop their understanding of scientific, mathematical and technical concepts
  • Support pupils with problem-solving, practical activities and independent learning
  • Assist teachers with differentiated classroom activities and learning tasks
  • Encourage students to engage positively with STEM subjects
  • Help learners develop confidence, curiosity and motivation
  • Provide additional guidance to students who need extra support
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team
  • Share feedback on student progress where appropriate
  • Who are we looking for?

    We're keen to hear from graduates with:

  • A

    STEM-related degree

    , such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject, ideally at

    2:1 or above

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate ideas clearly
  • A genuine interest in working with young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Previous experience working with children or young people

    (desirable, but not essential)

    Previous classroom experience isn't required.
