Day Care Officer, Lewis Day Services (3940)

33 hours per week, permanent post

£29,084 - £31,785 per annum (inclusive of £2,673 Distant Islands Allowance)

You will work enthusiastically as a member of a team that promotes and supports Adults with Support Needs to actively take part within local resources and facilities, maximising their inclusion, independence and achieving planned outcomes. This can be within a variety of settings and may include providing evening, overnight or community-based support where required.

You will contribute to the delivery of person-centred support, care planning, key working responsibilities and a programme of activities that meets the needs and aspirations of service users. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, families and partner agencies to promote wellbeing, independence and positive outcomes.

You should have experience of working with people with support needs, experience of organising group activities and a good understanding of the rights and responsibilities of adults with support needs. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team and the ability to compile reports and maintain accurate records are essential.

You must hold a minimum SVQ Level III in Care (or equivalent). In the absence of this qualification, candidates must be willing and able to undertake and achieve the qualification within 36 months of registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). A current full UK driving licence is essential.

This role requires the wearing and use of PPE. This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
