Summary

Location: HMP Wakefield, Love Lane, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF2 9AG

The base salary is £27,426, plus a weekend rota allowance. There will be a requirement to work 1 in 4 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week:

Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 16:15

Saturday and Sunday (rota weekends): 07:30 - 15:15

What You Will Do

Deliver grounds maintenance activities including grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, pruning and seasonal horticultural work.

Support the upkeep of the prison estate through litter clearance and waste management activities.

Operate grounds maintenance machinery, light plant and power tools safely and effectively.

Assist with drainage works and general external maintenance duties.

Maintain outdoor areas to a high standard, ensuring they remain safe, presentable and fit for purpose.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and prison staff to deliver a quality service.
