Luma Education Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced EHCP Case Worker / SEND Coordinator to join an established education setting in Southampton, Hampshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in SEND, EHCP coordination, learning support or case management who is confident working with young people, families, education professionals and external agencies.

The role will involve taking ownership of a caseload of students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)and High Needs, ensuring their support remains appropriate, effective and compliant with statutory requirements.

As an EHCP Case Worker / Coordinator, you will:

- Take responsibility for a caseload of students with EHCPs and additional support needs

- Coordinate the full EHCP Annual Review process, from gathering information through to completion and submission of documentation

- Chair Annual Review meetings and ensure actions are followed up within required timescales

- Work closely with students and families to ensure their views and aspirations are represented

- Liaise with SENCOs, teachers, learning support teams and curriculum staff

- Build effective relationships with Local Authorities and external professionals

- Help ensure the provision detailed within students' EHCPs is implemented and regularly reviewed

- Coordinate transition arrangements for students joining or progressing within the setting

- Support referrals, assessments and requests relating to EHCP and High Needs Funding

- Maintain accurate records and update student information and support plans

- Attend multi-agency meetings involving professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Physiotherapists

- Provide guidance to staff around individual SEND needs and appropriate support strategies

- Advocate for students and help ensure their educational, personal and progression needs remain central to decision-making

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Previous experience within SEND, education, learning support or EHCP casework

- A good working knowledge of EHCPs and the Annual Review process

- Experience working with young people or adults with SEND and complex needs

- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage a busy caseload

- Experience working collaboratively with parents/carers and external agencies

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- The confidence to chair meetings and communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals

- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and electronic record-keeping systems

- A professional, resilient and student-centred approach

- An Enhanced DBS, ideally registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

- £150-£230 per day, depending on experience
