The opportunity
We are looking for an energetic and people-focused Community Engagement Coordinator to strengthen Vision Support's presence across Cheshire West. You will build relationships, bring people and organisations together, and develop accessible groups and activities that respond to what local communities need.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys being out in the community, making connections and turning ideas into practical opportunities that make a real difference.
What you will do
• Build strong relationships with voluntary, statutory, health, social care and community organisations.
• Represent Vision Support at community events, networks and meetings.
• Identify local needs, gaps in support and opportunities for partnership working.
• Develop and coordinate accessible groups, activities and events for people affected by vision impairment.
• Connect people with the right Vision Support service or other local support.
• Promote our services and maintain accurate information about activity, feedback and outcomes.
What we offer
• 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 32 days after five years' service.
• Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, subject to the needs of the role.
• A workplace pension scheme, subject to eligibility.
• An Employee Assistance Programme, including access to 24/7 counselling.
• A full induction, vision impairment awareness training and ongoing development opportunities.
• Access to our mentor and mentee scheme.
• Regular team-building days and social events.
• The opportunity to make a visible difference during a landmark year for Vision Support.
Practical information
The role involves regular travel across Cheshire West, including community venues, meetings and events. Some occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Applicants must be able to travel reliably throughout the area, with reasonable adjustments where required.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check at the level legally appropriate to the duties undertaken.
