Overview We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Slinger to join our team in London. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of loads on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lifting operations and demonstrate excellent communication skills to assist crane operators in executing tasks safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

- Assist the crane operator by providing clear and precise signals or verbal communication to ensure the safe lifting and placement of loads.

- Conduct pre-use checks of lifting equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.

- Work closely with site teams to coordinate lifting operations and ensure adherence to project timelines.

- Maintain a safe working environment by following all health and safety regulations, including asbestos awareness protocols.

- Report any equipment defects or safety concerns to the site supervisor promptly.

- Ensure all lifting operations are carried out in accordance with industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications

- Must hold a valid Blue CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) card.

- Asbestos Awareness certification is mandatory.

- Proven experience as a Slinger in a construction or industrial setting.

- Strong understanding of lifting operations and safety procedures.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with crane operators and site teams.

- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Day-to-Day

- Collaborate with crane operators to plan and execute lifting operations.

- Provide clear hand signals or verbal instructions to guide the safe movement of loads.

- Inspect lifting equipment and ensure it is in good working condition before use.

- Monitor site activities to identify potential hazards and take corrective actions as needed.

- Maintain accurate records of lifting operations and equipment inspections.

- Participate in daily site briefings and contribute to a culture of safety and teamwork.
