Recovery Worker - Substance Misuse

Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire

⏳ Contract: 3 Months

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Pay: From £16.00 per hour Umbrella - pay may be increased depending on relevant direct Recovery Worker experience

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Recovery Worker to join a specialist substance misuse service in Hatfield on an initial 3-month contract.

You will support service users throughout their recovery journey, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to reduce drug and alcohol-related harm and promote long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Support service users from assessment through treatment and recovery.

Complete screening, assessments and risk assessments.

Manage a caseload and develop person-centred recovery plans.

Deliver psychosocial interventions and motivational support.

️ Provide harm-reduction advice and support.

Make appropriate referrals to partner services.

Advocate for service users and help overcome barriers to support.

Support social reintegration, resilience and independence.

Work effectively with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Maintain accurate and confidential case records.

About You

You should have:

✅ Direct experience within a Recovery Worker, Drug & Alcohol or Substance Misuse role.

✅ Experience managing a caseload and completing assessments.

✅ Knowledge of recovery and harm-reduction approaches.

✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

✅ A person-centred, non-judgemental approach.

✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
