Salary: up to £56,293

Contract: Permanent / Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and capable manager to lead our Electoral Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who can bring strong organisational, project management and stakeholder engagement skills to a specialist service area.

While previous electoral services experience would be beneficial, it is not essential. We are committed to supporting the successful candidate through mentoring, training and development to build their knowledge and confidence in this important area of work.

Our modern office at Number One Riverside sits in the heart of Rochdale town centre, with excellent public transport links and easy access to shops, cafés, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Elections Team to deliver effective and customer focused services
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Plan and deliver local, regional, and national elections, including staffing, training, and logistics
  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the electoral register
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, agents, and stakeholders
  • Drive improvements in processes and customer service

About You

  • Experience of leading, managing or supervising a team
  • Experience of managing projects, services or programmes of work with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies or guidance
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work accurately and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Willingness to develop specialist knowledge of electoral services and democratic processes
