Salary: £21,257.48 - £23,232.69 FTE (£17,005.98 - £18,584.82 pro-rata)

We are currently seeking a one-to-one Teaching Assistant to join us within our secondary classes.

About the School

Located in Headingley, Leeds, our school offers a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5-18. Role Responsibilities

* Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils

* Support the classroom teacher during lessons

* Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met

* Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips

* Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation

* Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging interaction and positive learning outcomes

* Adapt resources to meet the needs of young people

Requirements

* A strong basic education, ideally to A level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills

* Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant

* Previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting

* Experience and confidence in taking additional responsibility for an area of school, such as food hygiene, Forest School, lunchtimes or school yoga

* Experience of behaviour-management strategies and techniques

* A commitment to professional development and willingness to learn

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Polaris Community.
