The Willows High School primary cluster are seeking to appoint one permanent School Attendance Officer, to start 2nd November 2026.
Stacey Primary School will be the host school and will line manage the School Attendance Officer. However, you will work with the other primary schools across the cluster which are Adamsdown, Baden Powell, Moorland & Tredegarville.
We are seeking dedicated professionals to improve pupil attendance and foster positive relationships with families. This is a unique and rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the wellbeing and learning of children.
The key areas of responsibility will be to:
Identify and monitor pupils and families who require support in improving attendance and punctuality
Implement strategies to improve attendance and punctuality
Support and liaise with families and advise on their statutory responsibilities in relation to school attendance
The ideal candidate will:
Be self-motivated and have high expectations of themselves
Have excellent communication skills
Have good digital skills, preferably with experience of Arbor
Have a positive attitude to working with vulnerable families
Have good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, and manage your own workload
A willingness to learn and develop
Excellent support and professional learning will be provided to the appointed candidates. Successful candidates will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone in order to carry out their roles effectively.
