Summary
Greenway Junior School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team for 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is a fixed-term position (funding-related) until 31 August 2027 and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities.Your opportunityThis is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. Whether you're delivering targeted interventions, adapting learning activities, or celebrating a child's breakthrough moment, you'll play an important part in their educational journey.As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:Support children with special educational needs and disabilities to access learning and achieve their individual goals.Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging, personalised learning activities and interventions.Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence.Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals.Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive school environment where every child can flourish.Benefit from ongoing training, support, and opportunities to develop your skills and experience within a collaborative team.This role would suit someone who is patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning. What we are looking for Good general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Ability to support learning activities, clarify instructions, and engage children effectively. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise tasks, and maintain accurate records. Good communication skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Flexible, calm under pressure, and passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives. Experience working with children with significant or complex needs is desireable.
