Summary
Role: Production Operative
Location: Portsmouth, PO3
Rate: £14.05
Shift: Rotating
The Operator role is to make, manufacture and deliver work upon business demand. Specific departments will include production of assembly, sub assembly and making materials.
Daily duties(not limited):
• Following and interpreting technical drawings
• Using adhesives, solvents, and chemicals safely
• Operating welding machines, presses, and large machinery
• Using milling and mixing machines
• Inspecting materials to ensure fit for purpose
• Completing route cards and maintaining 100% compliance
• Using small handheld tools
About you:
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• High attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions accurately
• Strong health & safety awareness and PPE compliance (safety shoes, overalls, safety glasses)
• Commitment to following safety rules with no short cuts
• Ability to work with strong‑smelling chemicals
• Ability to undertake prolonged periods of sitting or standing
Desired experience, but not essential:
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Aerospace or regulated‑industry experience (advantageous but not essential)
Shift: Rotating shift
Week 1. 6am to 2.45pm
Week 2. 2.30pm to 11.15pm
NB. Please note successful candidates must go through a basic BPSS clearance due to the sensitive nature of our clients work.
