About the Role

The Senior Health and Safety Officer is an integral member of the Health, Safety and Environmental team.

In this role, you will support the Health, Safety and Environmental manager in delivering and implementing City Buildings health and safety management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and the ISO 45001 standards.

You will be required to provide expert advice and guidance across the organization, promoting a positive health and safety culture, and contribute to the development and management of the Health and Safety team. You will be responsible for supporting the operations division on all health and safety matters, assisting with staff management and work programmes, and undertaking fire risk assessments, audits, inspections, and accident investigations.

The role also includes supporting managers with CDM and asbestos-related matters, implementing corrective actions, and developing and delivering effective health and safety training.

What You Will Bring

The post holder will have strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with proven experience working in a health and safety role within a complex, multi-site organisation.

You will have the ability to provide effective advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders, building positive working relationships and influencing health and safety best practice across the business.

You will be knowledgeable in current health and safety legislation and industry developments, with the ability to apply innovative and practical solutions that support continuous improvement and promote a positive health and safety culture.

A full UK driving licence and NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is essential.
