Full time hours on a temporary basis

Provide legal advice on planning, highways, regeneration, compulsory purchase, and local government matters.
Draft, negotiate, and complete Section 106 Agreements, Highway Agreements, Deeds, Licences, and other legal documentation.
Advise on planning applications, planning appeals, enforcement matters, and judicial review proceedings.
Support the Council's planning and highways functions by providing pragmatic and solution-focused legal advice.
Attend and advise committees, member meetings, public inquiries, hearings, and officer meetings as required.
Manage a varied caseload of complex planning and highways matters with minimal supervision.
Instruct and manage external counsel where necessary.
Keep up to date with legislative and regulatory developments affecting planning and highways law.
Work collaboratively with planning officers, highway engineers, property teams, and other stakeholders to facilitate development and infrastructure projects.
Ensure all legal work is delivered in accordance with professional standards, policies, and performance targets.
