ROLE DESCRIPTION

Connect People. Create Opportunities. Change Futures.

Are you a confident communicator with a passion for helping people take their next step?

Do you enjoy building relationships, promoting opportunities and driving real results?

Kidderminster College is looking for a Skills and Progression Engagement Officer to join our ambitious team-someone who can engage learners, connect with employers and champions progression into work, apprenticeships and further learning.

This is a dynamic, outward-facing role at the heart of our employability and adult skills provision.

You'll play a key part in attracting learners, building partnerships and ensuring high-quality programme delivery, working closely with local employers, partners and internal teams to create opportunities that reflect the needs of our community.

This is more than coordination-it's about engagement, influence and impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive learner recruitment and engagement
  • Promote programmes, generate interest and support enrolment activity across the local area

  • Build strong employer and partner relationships
  • Act as a key contact for employers, training providers and local stakeholders to create meaningful progression routes

  • Coordinate high-quality programmes
  • Ensure smooth delivery, excellent learner experience and strong outcomes

  • Deliver employability support
  • Help learners develop confidence and readiness through CV workshops, interview preparation and job-search skills

  • Track success and progression
  • Monitor outcomes and support learners into employment, further study or apprenticeships

  • Maintain quality and compliance
  • Ensure accurate data, funding compliance and a strong audit trail

We're seeking someone who brings energy, focus and a strong sense of purpose:

  • Externally focused and proactive - confident engaging with employers, partners and the community
  • Target- and outcome-driven - motivated to meet recruitment, progression and performance goals
  • Highly organised - able to coordinate multiple activities and priorities effectively
  • A strong communicator - able to inspire and support learners from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Customer-focused - passionate about delivering an excellent learner journey

You may have experience in supporting employment preparation, supporting or developing skills or a customer facing environment - or simply an ambition to work in a role that supports young people and adults gain confidence, skills and progress into their positive next steps.

Why Join Kidderminster College?

  • Be part of a forward-thinking college with strong local roots and employer links
  • Join a high-performing, supportive team that values collaboration and innovation
  • Play a visible, impactful role in your community
  • Help shape provision that responds directly to local skills and workforce needs
  • Develop your career in a fast-moving, outcome-focused environment

At Kidderminster College, we believe in the power of education to transform lives.

As a Skills and Progression Engagement Officer, you'll be right at the centre of that mission-connecting people with opportunities and helping them move forward with confidence.
