Summary

Smart Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Multi Skilled Fitter to join a busy waste and recycling operation in East Lothian.

This is a hands-on, varied role working across multiple departments, supporting the maintenance, repair and reliability of site equipment, HGV vehicles and hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated engineer who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities and take ownership of maintenance tasks within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

. Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and fault finding across site equipment.

. Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, HGV vehicles and mobile plant machinery.

. Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.

. Support both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.

. Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.

. Prioritise workloads and work independently when required.

. Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping.

Pay & Benefits:

. Up to £18.00 per hour

. £200 Bonus after completion of 6 weeks

. Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 6:00pm

. Overtime paid at time and a half after 46.25 hours

. Full-time, permanent opportunity
