About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Scientific Officer to join the Molecular Biology Core department. The role sits within a service-oriented team that supports cutting-edge research at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute. Responsibilities include molecular analysis of biological samples, quality control testing of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), and next-generation sequencing. The successful candidate will contribute to entire molecular biology workflows, from sample quality assessment through to data processing using the department’s high-throughput technology platforms. Working closely with service users is central to this role, requiring excellent communication skills and a flexible, responsive approach.
