About the job

We are looking to recruit a Café Supervisor to work in our busy open-door day centre in Hulme. Cornerstone Day Centre’s Community Cafe is attended by over 80 people per day, the Café Supervisor would support the smooth running of the café, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

The Café Supervisor will staff the welcome desk, maintaining a safe and sociable environment where people can socialise and improve their wellbeing. You will support people to volunteer, develop skills and engage in wider opportunities, signposting those who need additional advice or support from our specialist staff or external services.

Additionally, you will induct, train and supervise volunteers attending the service and from the general community, for them to help run the café, this will include organising induction and training sessions, briefings, supporting volunteers to gain skills, and identifying and achieving their goals. As well as overseeing the volunteers work ensuring they are following guidelines and working in accordance with Caritas’ safeguarding, health and safety and food hygiene procedures.

You will be enthusiastic about using your hospitality and people skills to make a positive difference to people’s lives. Additionally, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good IT skills. With the ability to take responsibility for delivering a high-quality service, prioritise and meet deadlines.
