Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a well-established, family-run independent garage based in Uckfield, East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Vehicle Technician to work within a supportive, traditional environment where their expertise will be highly valued. The Vehicle Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the reputation of this reputable local business through high standards of vehicle repair and maintenance.

- No weekend work, with a Monday to Friday schedule

- Assistance with vehicle borrowing for breakdowns or customer recovery when necessary

Duties:

- Diagnose and repair a broad range of vehicles, including light commercial vehicles and minibuses

- Conduct MOT repairs and inspections for classes 4, 5, and 7

- Maintain vehicle health through regular inspections and repairs

- Perform general maintenance tasks adhering to manufacturer guidelines

- Use diagnostic scanners and hand tools to identify faults and implement effective repairs

- Support the team in ensuring smooth workshop operations and exceptional customer service

Requirements:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in vehicle repairs as a Vehicle Technician

- Broad knowledge of all vehicle types, including light commercial vehicles and minibuses

- MOT licence is desirable but not essential

- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a busy environment

- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail

- Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Autodata and Snap-on equipment is preferred

- Proactive attitude and passion for automotive technology
