Your new role...

Working as part of a busy Credit Control team, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring outstanding balances are collected in a timely manner.Some of the daily duties involved will include:

Managing and maintaining a section of the sales ledger.

Chasing overdue accounts via telephone, email and written correspondence.

Building positive working relationships with customers to resolve payment issues efficiently.

Allocating and reconciling customer payments.

Processing and balancing incoming bank payments.

Investigating and resolving account queries, proof of delivery requests and payment disputes.

Liaising with internal departments and the wider sales team regarding overdue accounts and customer issues.

Supporting the wider finance function and assisting with ad hoc duties when required.

The role offers a varied workload and would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their accounts while working collaboratively with colleagues.

What you'll need to succeed...

Previous experience in a Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger role.

Confidence communicating with customers by phone and email.

Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.

Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Experience reconciling accounts and allocating payments.

A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to support colleagues.

Good IT skills, including experience using finance systems and Microsoft Office.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a practical, can-do approach who enjoys being part of a friendly team and isn't afraid to pick up the phone to resolve issues.
