Summary

The Department of Creative Industries offers a range of A Level & vocational art & design specialist courses. The department has a broad student intake from Level 1 to 4. The department has four specialist dedicated workshops individually equipped for 3D model making, ceramics, printmaking and photography including darkrooms and studio. The Technician will have the expertise to support students in producing practical work in Wood, Metal and Plastics in the 3D specialist workshops and general Art Studios. This will include whole group inductions and demonstrations as well as working on a one-to one basis with individual students on personal project development. The Technician will ensure that the designated workshops are safe working environments for staff and students. The Technician will be proactive in supporting all courses within the department with physical and practical resources. This will include in the studio base rooms, the ordering and managing of stock and its storage and the setting up of rooms for open events, exhibitions and showcases. The Technician may occasionally be required to accompany staff and students on educational visits.Richmond upon Thames College is part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College Group (HRUC) and is one of London’s most successful Further Education Colleges providing education and training to 16-19 year old’s and adults from across Richmond, London and Surrey, for over 80 years. We have opened a new building in 2020 and a brand-new technology-focused STEM Centre in 2024.
