Are you an experienced Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with pupils with SEMH needs?

Do you have the resilience and patience to support young people who may display challenging behaviour?

Can you provide consistent and engaging support within an alternative provision?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEMH settings and alternative provisions in Leeds that provide supportive learning environments for pupils who require additional help to engage positively with their education. These settings focus on building trusting relationships, promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils with their social, emotional and mental health needs.

We are looking for a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant for long-term or short-term opportunities, supporting pupils with SEMH needs who may display challenging behaviour. The successful Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide consistent classroom support, manage behaviour effectively and help pupils remain engaged with their learning.

The successful Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour

Experience working within a school, SEMH setting or alternative provision

Strong behaviour management skills

The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils

A patient, resilient and adaptable approach

A positive ‘can-do’ attitude
