Every role contributes to that mission. As a Casual Hospitality & Catering Assistant, you’ll help create a welcoming, comfortable environment that supports visitors as they learn, explore, and connect with nature.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll help keep our visitor spaces clean, tidy, and ready for guests. This includes:

Cleaning and preparing bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas

Making beds, replenishing towels, and restocking tea/coffee facilities

Keeping public areas tidy, safe, and welcoming

Setting up the dining room for mealtimes

Supporting our kitchen team with food preparation and service

Helping keep dining and refreshment areas clean and stocked

You’ll be part of a team that works together to keep the centre running smoothly, we value team members who are happy to help wherever they’re needed.

Where you’ll be working

Castle Head isn’t your typical hospitality environment. Set within 30 acres of private grounds and a historic Georgian house, it offers a sense of space and tranquillity, yet remains accessible by road and rail. With accommodation for over 150 guests, versatile workrooms, and a sports hall, the centre hosts a wide range of groups all year round. Surrounded by woodland, grassland, and freshwater habitats, it’s a place where you can take a moment to enjoy the beauty of the Lake District while delivering exceptional service to every visitor.
