Summary

SEND Teaching Assistant - long-term, temporary and ongoing, full-time starting asap

Here is a large and successful primary and nursery school catering for pupils aged 3–11, located in Fairstead, King's Lynn. The school serves a diverse community and is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child is valued and supported.

SEND Teaching Assistant duties:

Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on a one-to-one and small-group basis
Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet individual learning needs
Promote pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
Support children with communication, social, emotional, and learning needs
Help implement individual education and support plans
Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals, and parents where appropriate

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is advantageous
Understanding of a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs
Patient, caring, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
