Summary
We're looking for a Catering Assistant who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules. Role Responsibilities• Assist with the preparation, assembly, and distribution of patient meals in line with menu requirements and dietary needs.• Prepare patient meal trolleys, ensuring all food items are correctly packed and ready for service.• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and infection prevention throughout all catering areas.• Wash and sanitise crockery, cutlery, utensils, catering equipment, and meal delivery trolleys.• Carry out daily cleaning duties within food production, assembly, storage, and wash-up areas.• Assist with the receipt, storage, and stock rotation of food and catering supplies.• Follow all food safety, health and safety, and Trust procedures at all times.• Report any equipment faults, food quality concerns, or service issues to the appropriate supervisor.• Work effectively as part of the Patient Catering Team to ensure meals are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.• Provide a professional and courteous service when liaising with colleagues, ward staff, and other departments.
Additional Information
-You may be required to work at other hospital sites to meet service and business needs.

What we are looking for
-Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
-Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
-Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
-Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
-Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.
