Summary
Deliver high quality evidence-based patient centered care. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and treatment plans. Prepare, support and participate, facilitate urology clinics: flexible cystoscopy (surveillance, stent removal, Tula laser, Botox), prostate biopsy, Lithotripsy, Bladder installations, catheter changes(urethral, suprapubic, ileal conduit and perineal urostomy), Trial without catheter clinics, intermittent self catheterisation, venipuncture, cannulation, complex wounds, nephrostomy dressing change, removal and urinary flow studies. Perform specialist skills: catheter changes, administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy teach intermittent catheterisation and flushing. Carry out independent nurse led clinics after a period of training and you are competent. Telephone assessment, triage, follow up support and signposting. Coordinate outpatient clinic, lead the team and deputise for band 6 and 7 if required. Work collaboratively with consultants and specialist teams in the multi disciplinary team. Revalidate as required by the NMC and ensure you maintain a valid registration to allow you to practice. Continued professional development, practice within the parameters of NMC code of conduct, local policy and procedures. Participate in service development, quality improvement and pathway development. Support teach and supervise students and new learners.
