Job Description Summary:

These are part time, permanent, term time retained only positions.

School Crossing Patrol - Grade 2 – £24,796 (Actual salary for this post would be £3,126 - £3,907).

Hours per week vary from 5 - 6.25.

Vacancies are:

• Wold Rd. Wold Academy

• St George's Rd St George's Primary

• Priory Rd. Priory Primary

• Nidderdale St Mary's

• Maybury Rd. Maybury Primary

• Holderness Rd / Parkhurst Cl. Thanet Primary

ROLE AND PURPOSE

To safely operate a designated School Crossing Patrol site in accordance with legal requirements and city council policies.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.

2. Operates a School Crossing Patrol site in a safe and appropriate manner at arranged times of duty.

3. To assist the safe passage of children to and from school.

4. To assist the safe passage of any adult pedestrian presenting themselves at the crossing site.

5. Contributes to the delivery of the city council Road Safety Strategy.

6. Reports to their supervisor any highway defects or other issues which may affect the safe operation of the site.

7. Liaise with the Road Safety Section, schools or the Police on Child Protection issues relating to the operation of the site.

8. To support the city council’s child protection policy.

The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull City Council, as your employer and you as an employee of the council. In addition to the Councils overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health safety and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Council’s Corporate HS policy.
