Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, confident and people-focused individuals to join our new Face Fit Testing Team.

Face fit testing for respiratory protective equipment is a mandatory requirement under health and safety legislation. This role will play an important part in overseeing the delivery, development and compliance of an effective face fit testing service across the Trust.

The successful candidates will lead the Face Fit Test team and will work within the Health and Safety Team and closely with staff and colleagues across a range of services, using excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide a professional, supportive and responsive service.The ideal candidate will be keen to develop their knowledge, skills and experience in the field of health and safety.

Although the role will be predominantly based at the Royal Free Hospital, travel to other Trust sites will be required to meet service needs and ensure face fit testing is delivered effectively across the organisation.

The role involves conducting face fit testing for staff who are required to wear FFP3 respirators, ensuring that all testing is carried out correctly and in line with established face fit testing procedures.

You will lead the Face Fit Team in delivering and maintaining a compliant and effective face fit testing service for respiratory protective equipment. An important part of your role will be maintaining accurate records and monitoring testing requirements to ensure that relevant staff remain compliant and up to date.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Health and Safety Team, Infection Prevention and Control Team and Procurement to provide consistent, reliable and professional advice and support. You will also be expected to undertake both quantitative and qualitative face fit testing, including testing with powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) where required.

This is a people-focused role where clear communication, attention to detail and a professional approach will be key to ensuring staff receive the right support and advice to use respiratory protective equipment safely and effectively.
