Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their established team in Huncote, Leicestershire. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a HGV Technician with extensive mechanical and electrical diagnostic experience to work across a diverse range of vehicles and equipment.

- Working on a variety of vehicles including HGVs, trailers, and plant equipment

Duties of a HGV Technician:

- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs, trailers, and plant machinery

- Servicing and preventative maintenance, including six-weekly inspections

- Conducting MOT preparation and repairs

- Repairing telehandlers, loading shovels, excavators, and access platform cherry pickers

- Attending breakdowns and performing roadside diagnostics on a rota basis

- Maintaining accurate records of work, parts used, and time allocated

- Communicating effectively with colleagues and clients regarding repairs, parts, and timings

- Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times

Requirements of a HGV Technician:

- Minimum 4 years’ practical experience as an HGV and/or plant mechanic

- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills

- Experience working on multi-brand vehicles

- IRTEC certification (desirable but not essential)

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Dependable with a professional work ethic

- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills

- Willingness to learn new skills and develop professionally

- Desirable qualifications include welding, fabrication, hydraulic systems knowledge, and experience with hydraulic or RORO equipment
